WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
HOW LONG IS A SERVICE
Our services typically last between 60 and 75 minutes. We begin with live worship led by our Worship Team, with lyrics displayed on screens so you can sing along or simply take it in, whatever feels most comfortable to you.

Following worship, Pastor Kevin shares a practical, encouraging message centered on Jesus and relevant to everyday life.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
We love families, and we’ve created a space where your kids can feel safe, engaged, and excited to be at church. During our services, we offer Sunday School with age-appropriate teaching designed to help children learn about God in a fun and meaningful way. We also have a comfortable nursery room available, where mothers can care for their little ones while still watching the service online. Our heart is to support your family and help your children grow in their faith from an early age.

BAPTISM
I LEFT IT IN THE WATER
WHAT IS BAPTISM BY IMMERSION?
Baptism by immersion is a public expression of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ. It involves being fully submerged in water, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
As someone goes under the water, it represents leaving behind their old life; rising out of the water reflects new life in Christ (Romans 6:4).

IS IT REQUIRED TO BE SAVED?
Baptism doesn’t save a person, but it is an important step of obedience that follows a personal decision to follow Jesus (Acts 2:38). It is a powerful declaration of faith and a celebration of the new life God has begun (2 Corinthians 5:17).

WHERE AND WHEN CAN I GET BAPTISED?
At First Baptist Church Sudbury, water baptism takes place twice a year during our Sunday morning services in the church baptismal, as well as once each summer at the ‘Plunge in the Park’ event held at Moonlight Beach.

BABY DEDICATION
WHAT IS BABY DEDICATION?
Baby dedication is a special moment where parents publicly commit to raising their child in a way that honors God. It is not about the child making a personal decision of faith, but about the parents dedicating themselves to lead, teach, and model a Christ-centered life for their child.

WHY DO WE DO IT?
We believe children are a gift from God (Psalm 127:3), and baby dedication is a way for families to thank Him for that gift. It’s also a meaningful opportunity for parents to commit to guiding their child spiritually and for the church to come alongside them in support, prayer, and encouragement.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Baby dedications take place during a Sunday service. Parents come forward with their child, and Pastor Kevin prays over the family. During this time, parents are invited to make a commitment to raise their child in faith, and the church family joins in supporting and praying for them.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Baby dedication is a declaration of intention—it reflects a desire to raise a child to know and follow Jesus. It’s also a reminder that parenting is not meant to be done alone. As a church, we partner with families to help nurture and encourage each child as they grow in faith and purpose.
